RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION: Approve Ordinance

 

ITEM SUMMARY:

                     A runoff election will be held Saturday, June 7, 2025 to elect a Mayor and a City Council Member At-Large.

                     Ordinance provides for the following:

o                     Date and hours of voting on election day:

Saturday, June 7, 2025                     7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

o                     Proposed dates and hours of voting during early voting: 

Monday, May 26 (Memorial Day)                     no voting

Tuesday, May 27 through Saturday, May 31                     8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Sunday, June 1                     no voting

Monday, June 2 to Tuesday, June 3                     7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Wednesday, June 4 to Friday, June 6                     no voting

                     City of McKinney, polling locations for Runoff Early Voting and Election Day Voting will be the same as utilized for the May 3, 2025 General Election:

                     Method of voting: ES&S ExpressVote Universal Voting Machines (EVS 6.1.1.0), ES&S ExpressTouch Curbside Voting Machines (EVS 6.1.1.0), ES&S DS200 Ballot Counters (EVS 6.1.1.0), ES&S Model DS450 and DS850 High-Speed Scanners/Tabulators (EVS 6.1.1.0), ADA compliant headphones and keypads, voting signs, and election supply cabinets.

                     Canvass date and time: Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at 6:00 p.m.

                     Appointment of Kaleb Breaux, Collin County Elections Administrator, as the Early Voting Clerk for the purpose of conducting early voting.

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY: The terms of the May 3, 2025 Joint Election Services Contract and Election Services Agreement between the Collin County Elections Administrator and City of McKinney, are extended to the Runoff Election, as approved by City Council on February 4, 2025.
