RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:                     

                     Approval of Resolution

 

ITEM SUMMARY:

                     This Resolution authorizes an award of contract and allows for the City Manager to enter into a contract with Gemini Stage Lighting and Equipment Company, LLC to provide products and services to replace the theatrical lighting system in McKinney Performing Arts Center for a total contract amount not-to-exceed $165,000.

 

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     The City issued Request for Competitive Sealed Proposals, 24-42CSP to solicit proposals from respondents capable of upgrading the McKinney Performing Arts Center’s current theatrical lighting system.

 

                     The CSP was issued on April 21, 2024

o                     Advertised in the McKinney Courier-Gazette

o                     Posted on McKinney TV

o                     225 eBid supplier notifications which included 11 Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) suppliers

 

                     Out of 225 supplier notifications, one (1) proposal was received on May 23, 2024.

 

                     An evaluation team comprised of members from the McKinney Performing Arts Center and Facilities departments reviewed and scored the responses based on the following criteria outlined in the CSP:

o                     25% - Contractor’s Qualifications

o                     20% - Capability and Capacity to Perform Work

o                     35% - Cost Proposal

o                     20% - References

 

                     Based on the results of the evaluated proposal, the evaluation team is recommending the award of a contract to Gemini Stage Lighting and Equipment Company, LLC to provide products and installation services to replace the current McKinney Performing Arts Center theatrical lighting system. The City was able to secure an additional $2,449.90 discount after negotiations. The Resolution will authorize the execution of a contract with Gemini Stage Lighting and Equipment Company, LLC in the amount of $149,670.37.
