RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
1. Approve new members to the TIRZ1 Board, and
2. Designate a TIRZ1 Board Chairperson with a term effective this date until December 31, 2025.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• In accordance with the TIRZ2 Bylaws, most recently amended by the adoption of City Council Ordinance No. 2022-07-074, the board shall consist of nine (9) members, with at least eight (8) appointed by the City Council, and one member may be appointed by Collin County.
• Each year the City Council shall annually designate one (1) member of the board to serve as chairman for a one (1)-year term than begins on January 1 of the following year. The Board of Directors shall elect from its members a vice chairman to preside in the absence of the chairman or when there is a vacancy in the office of chairman. The Board of Directors may elect other officers as it considers appropriate.
o On December 3, 2024, the City Council designated Charlie Philips to serve as TIRZ2 Chair for the calendar year 2025.
o The most recently elected TIRZ2 Vice Chair is Rick Franklin.
