RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Receive and file a presentation on the new Neighborhood Cup initiative.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This is an information item to receive a presentation from staff regarding the new Neighborhood Cup initiative.
• The Neighborhood Cup is a friendly citywide challenge that celebrates McKinney’s HOA and Neighborhood Group leaders. The initiative provides neighborhood groups and HOAs an opportunity to compete for prizes, strengthen community connections, and help keep the HOA database information up to date.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• Staff in partnership with The CJ Cup Byron Nelson created this initiative to engage neighborhood and HOA leaders to encourage engagement with the city. This mutually beneficial program will provide the city with an opportunity to get more updated contact information for the HOA database and raise awareness regarding neighborhood service programs. The CJ Cup Byron Nelson will broaden their public outreach efforts to develop more relationships with McKinney residents.
• Participants can complete a registration form, neighborhood services survey, and attend the North Collin County Neighborhood Conference for the opportunity to enter a drawing for their group’s board members to receive The CJ Cup Byron Nelson grounds tickets for all registered board members and one guest. The winning group will also receive $1,500 to host a neighborhood event, courtesy of The CJ Cup Byron Nelson.
