* Approval of this Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to enter into an Interlocal Agreement with McKinney Independent School District (MISD) to provide school crossing guards at MISD school campuses.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* In 2002, a Crossing Guard Program was developed to establish paid crossing guards at intersections determined by the City of McKinney for McKinney ISD school campuses. An Interlocal Agreement was developed between the City of McKinney and McKinney ISD to provide the terms and conditions.
* In this cooperative agreement, McKinney ISD will hire, equip, and train the crossing guards, while the City of McKinney will reimburse McKinney ISD for associated costs for placement of the crossing guards at intersections designated by the McKinney Engineering Department.
* This Interlocal Agreement is a one year agreement renewed annually with no action necessary by either governing body for a total of five (5) years. The number and location of crossings guards may change annually as new school campuses or neighborhoods are added.
* This Interlocal Agreement is similar to the previous agreement developed in 2002. However, this proposed agreement allows for the adjustment of the crossing guards annually as needed.
* This Agreement was used to develop the Interlocal Agreements with Frisco ISD, Prosper ISD and Allen ISD.
