RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION: Authorize the Interim City Manager to enter into Interlocal Participation Agreement with Public Employee Benefits Alliance (PEBA)
ITEM SUMMARY:
· City of McKinney would like to reinstate membership with PEBA in order to access Deer Oaks Employee Assistance Program at lower rates
· PEBA offers other employee benefit products that the City may access in the future
· PEBA requires the City to enter into the Interlocal Participation Agreement in order to provide access to the benefits products mentioned above
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
· The Public Employee Benefits Alliance (PEBA) was created by a group of Texas Governmental leaders working together to develop strategies to manage the rising cost of healthcare benefits. PEBA operates pursuant to Chapter 791 of the Texas Government Code and Subchapter of Chapter 271 of the Texas Local Government Code. PEBA is organized to achieve economies of scale for the alliance of Political Subdivision in the State of Texas.

· Annual PEBA membership fee: $500
