                     Approval of Resolution

 

ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     The JAG provides funds to assist in the enhancement of public safety and crime reduction in the City of McKinney.

                     Funds will be used by the City of McKinney to purchase 12 Mass Casualty Incident bags to be issued to each Patrol Supervisor and able to be deployed in the event of a mass casualty emergency. Each bag contains ready-to-use gloves, chest seals, gauze, trauma dressings, and tourniquets.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     The grant is issued by the U.S. Department of Justice to enable local law enforcement agencies to purchase needed equipment.

                     The grant funds are administered by the City of Plano and shared by the City of McKinney, Collin County, the City of Frisco and the City of Plano. The City of McKinney’s share is $17,560.

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY: 

                     The City of McKinney will receive $17,560 for the purchase of 12 Mass Casualty Incident bags. The total purchase cost is $18,414 and the remaining $854.00 will be paid by the department.
