ITEM SUMMARY:
• McKinney Community Development Corporation will conduct a public hearing on a request from the Parks and Recreation Department to reallocate funds from the Parks Umbrella Fund in the amount of $520,000 to the Recreation Center at Towne Lake to complete various facility enhancements.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The MCDC approved $5,500,000 in funding in FY20-21 for various park projects.
• Included in the funds awarded was an $820,000 in Umbrella Fund for reallocation to various projects as needed.
• To fund additional facility upgrades at the Rec Center at Towne Lake, additional funds are needed. If approved, the $520,000 reallocation to PK4397 Recreation Center at Towne Lake will be used for updates to restrooms, fitness area, furniture, finishes, offices and front service desk.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• This request is eligible for MCDC consideration under Sections 501 to 505 of the Texas Local Government Code.
• These projects promote parks and park developments that will enhance the quality of life for McKinney residents.
