ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     Texas Cellos is requesting $15,000 for advertising, marketing, promotion and advertising of eight 2023-24 performances associated with three summer intensive programs.

                     Concerts are held at McKinney Flour Mill or McKinney Cotton Mill.

                     Ticket prices range from $25 to $35.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     Texas Cellos aims to advance cello playing. They are a 501(c)3 that inspires and cultivates excellence in youth through music education, ensemble building and performance opportunities.

                     With MCDC funding, their goal is to triple the reach of the Texas Cello School Summer Institutes and promote the Music@Mill performances.

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY: 

                     MCDC’s allocation for Promotional and Community Event grants for FY 23 is $200,000 -- $100,000 for Cycle I applicants and $100,000 for Cycle II applicants.

                     Actual total grant funds available for Cycle II are $131,458. This includes reappropriations of unspent funds from FY 2022.

                     This is the first time Texas Cellos has applied for a promotional grant from MCDC.
