ITEM SUMMARY:
* The McKinney Philharmonic is requesting $15,000 for the advertising, marketing and promotion of the 2023-24 Concert Series to include a minimum of ten performances.
* Dates for the Series are September 2, 2023; September 24, 2023 (Chamber); September 30, 2023; October 28, 2023; December 2, 2023; February 17, 2024 (Chamber); March 4, 2024; April 6, 2024; May 4, 2024; May 26, 2024.
* Performances draw attendees from across DFW. Goal is to grow the audience and the number of season concerts.
* Admission is $15-$25 depending on the show.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* Formed in Denton in 2012, the Odysseus Chamber Orchestra moved to McKinney in 2014 and is dedicated to deepening, strengthening, and broadening its relationship with the communities it serves through music.
* The organization produces high quality professional concerts and places importance on outreach and education programs that include summer music intensives, The Greater North Texas Youth Orchestra, The Young Artist Viola Competition, The Mentorship Program, The Side-By-Side Program and The Annual Concerts Tour.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
* MCDC's allocation for Promotional and Community Event grants for FY 23 is $200,000 -- $100,000 for Cycle I applicants and $100,000 for Cycle II applicants.
* Actual total grant funds available for Cycle II are $131,458. This includes reappropriations of unspent funds from FY 2022.
