ITEM SUMMARY:
• McKinney Community Development Corporation will conduct a public hearing on a project grant application submitted by Collin County Children’s Advocacy Center (CCCAC) for site improvements including water, drainage and sanitary sewer for a new facility in McKinney.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The mission of CCCAC is to provide safety, healing and justice for children victimized by abuse and/or neglect in Collin County.
• The Center houses Child Protective Services staff, law enforcement from jurisdictions, therapists, forensic interviewers and social workers who work together to meet the needs of children and families.
• CCCAC has provided life-changing services since 1992 and has served more than 65,000 children and non-offending family members.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• Funds allocated for MCDC discretionary project grants for FY21 was $1,530,105.
• Remaining FY21 funds for discretionary Project Grants is $865,667.44
• The request is eligible for MCDC consideration under Section 501.103 of the Texas Local Government Code.
