RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:      
  • Discuss potential policy regarding development fee waivers for non- profit organizations.
 
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:  
  • The City of McKinney periodically receives requests from certain non-profit organizations requesting a waiver of development fees for construction and/or expansion projects for their organization.
  • Waiver requests for permit and inspection fees typically include the following fees:
    • Building, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical permit fees
    • Planning submittal fees including site plan, platting, and zoning
    • Engineering inspection fees
    • Fire plan review and inspection fees
  • Staff will present information on the requirements for any fee waiver policy and will lead a discussion to determine if such a policy is the desire of the City Council.
