ITEM SUMMARY:
• Parks and Recreation staff will lead a discussion and workshop session related to the design concepts for Wilson Creek Greens Trail Phase 2. Feedback from this session will be utilized by the design team for incorporation into their planning efforts.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The Wilson Creek Greens Trail Phase 2 project (PK1827) is a FY23-24 Capital Improvements Program funded by MCDC funds and grant monies.
• This project will connect to phase 1 of the Wilson Creek Greens Trail and along and through the McKinney Greens parkland to Stewart Rd. This is a critical connection that will provide a continuous pedestrian connection from this park to Towne Lake and Gray Branch parkland.
• The trail project will include amenities such as:
o Trail improvements
o Bridge crossings
o Trail overlook
o Parking lot
o Trailhead
o Restroom Building
o Fishing Pier
o Site furnishings
• In December of 2023, City Council approved a professional services contract for master planning services with LJA Engineering, Inc.
• Exhibits from LJA Engineering, Inc. will be presented and thoroughly discussed at the meeting.
