ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract and all necessary change orders with Pavecon Public Works, L.P. for the construction of Virginia Parkway Lanes 5 & 6 from Ridge Road to US 75 for a total contract amount not to exceed $15,340,000.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* Halff Associates, Inc., prepared the construction plans for this project.
* On Thursday, November 17, 2016 the Purchasing Department opened bids for the project and two (2) bids were received. The following is a summary of the bid:

* Pavecon Public Works, L.P., submitted the low bid in the amount of $13,937,587.22.
* Pavecon Public Works, L.P., submitted references and qualifications that were verified in accordance with the bid specifications.
* The contract documents require that this project be substantially completed within 700 calendar days after issuance of the Notice to Proceed, which is expected in January 2017. Construction is expected to be substantially completed in December 2018 with final completion in January 2019.
* All necessary right-of-way and easements have been acquired for this project in order to construct the proposed improvements.
