ITEM SUMMARY:
• Sostenuto Choral Community of North Texas is requesting $9,310 for the marketing, advertising and promotion of their 2026 Christmas concert.
• Request represents 100% of total promotional budget.
• The event will take place December 14, 2026, at First McKinney in Downtown McKinney.
• Expected attendance is 335, about 48% coming from outside of McKinney.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• Sostenuto Choral joins local singers in a supportive vocal family, combining individual talents to create high quality performances.
• The choir performs two concerts each year in addition to performing at the Veterans Day Ceremony at R.D. Foster Veterans Memorial Park.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• MCDC’s allocation for Promotional and Community Event grants for FY 26 is $250,000, with $125,470 remaining and available for Cycle II applicants.
• MCDC awarded Sostenuto Choral Community $2,000 in Cycle 1 of FY 26 for the advertising, marketing and promotion of the 2026 Spring Concert.
