ITEM SUMMARY:
• McKinney ISD has requested the reduction of the SRO program following their employment of private security for select school campuses.
• This contract will reduce the number of SROs from fourteen (14) to twelve (12), and two (2) sergeants to one (1) sergeant.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The City of McKinney provides School Resource Officers (SRO) to the McKinney Independent School District (MISD).
• There will be twelve (12) SROs and one (1) Sergeant assigned to MISD.
• The cost of the SROs is shared 50% to both MISD and the City of McKinney.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• MISD will pay the contract amount of $1,139,451 for the 2024-2025 School Resource Officer Program.
