RECOMMENDED COMMISSION ACTION:
* Consider and provide funding recommendations to the City Council for the FY 2026-2027 Transit Homelessness Response Grant.

ITEM SUMMARY:
* The Community Grants Advisory Commission (CGAC) will consider proposals under the Transit Homelessness Response Grant.
* On May 21, 2026, the CGAC conducted a public hearing to review applications for the Transit Homelessness Response Grant. Commissioners will determine a recommendation for one agency to receive funding.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* To help individuals that are currently unhoused, the City of McKinney strives to provide some level of financial support to nonprofit organizations whose mission is to service the unhoused community, to further the public purpose of reducing the number of households who are experiencing, or those at-risk of experiencing homelessness within the city. The purpose of the grant is to support individuals experiencing homelessness by connecting them to work, school, or medical care through the Collin County Transit Program.
