RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION: Conduct Public Hearing and consider action on the future of transit services in McKinney.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• A companion item includes a presentation from the Goodman Corporation on past and existing transit services in McKinney.
• The Goodman Corporation completed a study of existing conditions and analysis of past transportation systems within the City of McKinney.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• On October 20, 2015, the City Council entered into an agreement with The Goodman Group to provide Transportation Consulting Services.
• During the past several months, TAPS has significantly reduced and cancelled all services provided to the City of McKinney.
• The reduction and cancellation of services is due to financial challenges within the TAPS organization.
• Due to these service issues, City Council has directed staff to look at alternative options for transportation services within the City of McKinney.
