ITEM SUMMARY:
• The purpose of this work session is to discuss the membership of the Capital Improvements Advisory Committee, specifically the number of members to serve on the committee.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The City of McKinney charges impact fees to help fund capital improvement projects in the city in accordance with Chapter 395 of the Texas Local Government Code (TLGC).
• On July 15, 2025, a work session presentation was given on SB 1883 by the City Secretary’s Office that outlined the specific changes for the capital improvements advisory committee in Ch 395 of the TLGC.
• The city needs to reestablish the Capital Improvements Advisory Committee to comply with the new legislation in preparation for the upcoming impact fee update.
