ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     The purpose of this work session is to discuss the membership of the Capital Improvements Advisory Committee, specifically the number of members to serve on the committee.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     The City of McKinney charges impact fees to help fund capital improvement projects in the city in accordance with Chapter 395 of the Texas Local Government Code (TLGC).

 

                     On July 15, 2025, a work session presentation was given on SB 1883 by the City Secretary’s Office that outlined the specific changes for the capital improvements advisory committee in Ch 395 of the TLGC.

 

                     The city needs to reestablish the Capital Improvements Advisory Committee to comply with the new legislation in preparation for the upcoming impact fee update.
