RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION: Expedited approval of this Resolution is requested to avoid a delay in the completion of this project.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to enter into a supplemental agreement to the existing contract with Kleinfelder, Inc. to provide additional material testing services for the construction of the Alma Fire Station.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• Material testing services are needed to ensure the completed project meets the requirements of the plans and specifications.
• During the course of the project additional testing was needed due to changes in construction sequence caused by unusually wet weather.
• Also, testing was needed to evaluate the structural integrity of the existing concrete slab.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• The original design contract with Kleinfelder was for an amount not to exceed $30,000.
• This Resolution authorizes a supplemental agreement increasing the contract to an amount not to exceed $37,500.
