RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of Resolution

ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract in the amount of $731,500 with Birkhoff, Hendricks & Carter, L.L.P for professional engineering design services for the Miscellaneous Pump Station Improvements Project (WA2415), for a total aggregate contract amount inclusive of any supplemental agreements, not to exceed $805,000.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* As a part of the water pumping system each water pump station has a ground storage water tank referred to as ground storage reservoirs (GSRs). These GSRs receive supply water from North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) prior to being pumped into the City's distribution system.
* Anticipated improvements include the exterior repainting of five precast concrete ground storage reservoirs, pump station piping repainting and miscellaneous pump station improvements.
* University Pump Station (UPS) - Pump Stations No. 1 (PS1) and No. 2 (PS2)
o The three (3) GSRs will be inspected, cleaned and repainted. The existing tank mixers will be replaced.
o PS1 - provide pump shelter, driveway, and miscellaneous improvements for the existing pumps that have no enclosure.
o Meter No. 1 - Remove and replace existing flow meter on the 36-inch discharge pipe with strap-on type flow meter for the existing pipe.
