RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract in the amount of $345,100 with Binkley & Barefield, Inc. for professional engineering services for the US 75 Parallel Line Master Plan Improvement Project (WW2541), for a total aggregate contract amount, inclusive of any supplemental agreements, not to exceed $380,000.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* Per the Wastewater Master Plan, a new 12" wastewater line which will replace 2,350 LF of existing 8" wastewater line. Limits are along the US 75 Frontage Road from Rockhill Road to MH 43966H. Design will also include 950 LF of wastewater improvements along Rockhill Road from Wilson Creek to US 75 Frontage Road. Improvements will eliminate an existing 8" wastewater line and transfer service to an existing 12" wastewater line.
* Construction of the master planned wastewater main will support the flows for upcoming and future capacity increases in the West Down Basin.
* Binkley & Barefield, Inc. submitted a response to RFQ 24-47 for On-call Utility Design Services. They were one of sixteen firms shortlisted by City Council on September 17, 2024.
* Staff has negotiated a project proposal with Binkley & Barefield, Inc. in the amount of $345,100. Their scope includes the following elements:
