ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     Direction 61:3 is requesting a grant in the amount of $5,000 to advertise, market and promote the 2024 BBQ & Bingo and the 2024 Christmas Mosaix Concert.

                     This is the 5th year for BBQ and Bingo which will be held March 22, 2024 at the Flour Mill. The 2023 event sold out with 250.

                     Tickets for BBQ and Bingo are $1,000 per table and $60 for an individual ticket ($30 for bingo and $30 for dinner).

                     The 7th annual Christmas Mosaix will have performances on December 5 and 6, 2024.

                     General admission tickets for Mosaix are $35 with VIP tickets ranging from $100 to $300.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     Direction 61:3 is a 501(c)(3) organization established in 2015 to provide support for young adults aging out of foster care.

                     Aged out youth are at high risk of challenges including homelessness, unemployment, incarceration, unplanned pregnancies and substance abuse.

                     Direction 61:3 provides support and stability through housing, education and emotional support.

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY: 

                     MCDC’s allocation for Promotional and Community Event grants for FY 24 is $200,000 -- $100,000 for Cycle I applicants and $100,000 for Cycle II applicants. 

                     Direction 61:3 McKinney was awarded $4,000 in FY 19 for the promotion of the 2019 Christmas Mosaix Concert.
