ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     MCDC will conduct a public hearing on a project grant application submitted by Habitat for Humanity of Collin County in the amount of $305,000 for the following projects:

o                     $200,000 for repairs at1304 Garcia to include upgrading wheelchair ramp, replacing doors and windows, repairs to leaking roof, and installing new steps, siding, skirting;

o                     $45,000 for comprehensive rehabilitation at 305 Lively Hill; and

o                     $60,000 for repairs at 611 Bumpas (Phase I of a multi-phase plan) to include demolishing the existing building, cleaning up the property, and designing the new structures for Phase II.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     Habitat for Humanity of Collin County has been building homes for working low-income families since its incorporation in 1992.

                     HHCC serves a 24-city area in Collin County.

                     HFHCC utilizes a two-pronged initiative for low-income families: construction of new homes; and exterior home repairs.

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY: 

                     Funds allocated for FY25 for discretionary Community, Economic Development and Pipeline Project grants total $7,459,257.

                     The request is eligible for MCDC consideration under Section 505.153 of the Texas Local Government Code.
