Approval of Resolution

ITEM SUMMARY:
This Resolution authorizes annual contracts with Jim Bowman Construction Company, L.P. of Plano, TX; Garret Shields Infrastructure, LLC of Frisco, TX; and Alderink Enterprises dba CI Pavement of Grand Prairie, TX for concrete street and sidewalk repairs.
The contracts provide unit-price concrete repair services for City infrastructure, including the removal and replacement of deteriorated or damaged concrete pavement, sidewalks, driveways, and related concrete appurtenances. Work may include demolition, disposal, site preparation, placement and finishing of new concrete, and restoration of affected areas.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Each year, the Public Works Department evaluates concrete infrastructure and completes repairs using both City crews and contractors. Contracted work is performed under unit-price contracts and is prioritized based on resident service requests, pavement condition data, observed deficiencies, safety considerations, and staff evaluations. Using both in-house staff and contractors provides the flexibility and capacity needed to complete repairs efficiently and cost-effectively.
