ITEM SUMMARY:
• Heritage Guild of Collin County has submitted a grant request, in the amount of $50,000 to replace the chimney on the Faires House and to replace porches, stairs and ramps on six historic buildings in Chestnut Square
• Buildings include Dulaney House, Dulaney Cottage, Chapel, Dixie’s Store, Faires House, and Johnson House.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The mission of Heritage Guild of Collin County is to celebrate community, preserve history and inspire the future.
• HGCC was organized more than 40 years ago.
• HGCC supports Chestnut Square Historic Village - a museum and tourist destination in McKinney offering diverse programs and activities throughout the year.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• Funds allocated for MCDC discretionary Project Grants for FY23 total $2,177,223.00, and $74,885.50 in discretionary funds remain.
• Additional funds are available via budget transfer.
• The request is eligible for MCDC consideration under Section 505.152 of the Texas Local Government Code.
