ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     The McKinney Repertory Theatre is requesting $13,190 for the advertising, marketing and promotion of their 2026-2027 performances including:

o                     A Christmas Carol (December 11-12 and 18-19, 2026); and

o                     Steel Magnolias (February 26-28 and March 5-7 and 12-14, 2027).

                     Request represents 89.6% of total promotional budget.

                     Ticket prices range from $9.50 to $26.50 and will include free student tickets for Steel Magnolias (pending a grant from H-E-B).

                     Total combined attendance is 3,600, with 56% from outside of McKinney.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     The mission and purpose of McKinney Repertory Theatre is to present live theater productions for the cultural, entertainment and inspiration of the community, while advancing the level of culture in the field of dramatic arts.

                     The organization partners with the Young Actors Guild to provide theatrical training for young stage performers.

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY: 

                     MCDC’s allocation for Promotional and Community Event grants for FY 26 is $250,000, with $125,470 remaining and available for Cycle II applicants.

                     MCDC awarded a Promotional and Community Event grant to McKinney Repertory Theater in an amount of $1,039 for 2026 performances and collaborations.
