RECOMMENDED ACTION:
* Approval of the Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract and all necessary change orders with CGC General Contractors, of Haltom City, Texas for the construction of the Grady Littlejohn Improvements (PK 2448) for a total contract amount not to exceed $3,700.000.00.
* City staff worked with LJA Engineering Inc. on preparing the construction plans and specifications as needed for project bidding.
* Staff, along with LJA Engineering Inc. support, recommends awarding the construction bid to CGC General Contractors, in an amount of $3,507,526.77 along with a $175,376.34 contingency for a total not to exceed amount of $3,700,000.00.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* LJA Engineering recently completed the design of these improvements.
* The new construction of the restroom and concession building is necessary due to a fire, which resulted in a total loss at the Grady Littlejohn Softball & Baseball Complex.
