RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:                     

                     No formal action will be taken. 

 

ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     Staff will present information on the following topics related to fire suppression in downtown McKinney:

o                     Desired outcomes

o                     Existing conditions in the study area

o                     Code requirements for fire sprinkler upgrades

o                     Review of existing assistance/incentive programs

o                     Discussion of how other cities address this issue

o                     Options for improving fire protection in downtown

                     Staff seeks council direction on potential fire protection programs for downtown McKinney. 

                     From this direction, programs will be developed and presented for approval at a future city council meeting.
