ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract and all necessary change orders with DDM Construction Corporation, for the Construction of the Virginia Street and Throckmorton Street Infrastructure Improvements (Municipal Complex) Project for a total contract amount not to exceed $10,650,000.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson, Inc. (JMT), formerly Civil Consulting Group, PLLC (CCG), prepared the construction plans for the Virginia Street and Throckmorton Street Infrastructure Improvements (Municipal Complex) Project.
* This project will include a full reconstruction of Virginia Street between McDonald Street (SH 5) and Throckmorton Street, and Throckmorton Street between Virginia Street and Lamar Street. There will also be improvements to underground utilities, storm drainage, street paving, pedestrian walkways/ADA accessibility, parking, landscape/hardscape, illumination, and other associated street elements. A single lane roundabout will be constructed at the intersection of Virginia Street and Throckmorton Street.
