RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of the Agreement.

ITEM SUMMARY:
* This agreement does not change the ultimate boundary between the Town of Prosper and the City of McKinney.

* This agreement authorizes the Town of Prosper to place street name signs, decorative poles and street lights, and other similar improvements along a short segment of Christie Farms Blvd where it extends into the City of McKinney, approximately 180 feet in total length. The Town of Prosper shall be responsible for the maintenance of any such improvements.

* This agreement also authorizes the McKinney City Manager and the Prosper Town Manager to agree to maintenance provisions for medians and other right-of-way and easement areas along the ultimate boundary in the future by letter agreement.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* The current boundary agreement between Prosper and McKinney was approved in 2001 and set the boundary in this area along the west right-of-way line of Custer Road (as it existed at that time).

* Christie Farms Blvd previously connected to the west side of old Custer Road, fully within Prosper's jurisdiction. However, when TxDOT reconstructed Custer Road recently they realigned the roadway in this area to improve the intersection with FM 1461. This resulted in a short segment (approximately 180 feet) of Christie Farms Blvd extending into McKinney's jurisdiction.
