RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:                     Appoint Lacy DeHorney to the ASFAC, for a full 2-year term effective October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2026

 

ITEM SUMMARY:

                     Lacy DeHorney is the Animal Services Manager of Collin County, responsible for the daily operation of the animal shelter, and replacing Misty Brown who is now the Development Services Assistant Director.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

                     The ASFAC serves to assist animal shelters located within the city to comply with Texas Health and Safety Code, Chapter 823.

                     In accordance with THSC and City Ordinances, the ASFAC must be comprised of at least four members, including at least one:

o                     Licensed veterinarian,

o                     Municipal official,

o                     Person whose duties include the daily operation of an animal shelter, and

o                     Representative of an animal welfare organization
