RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of the Ordinance
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Ordinance will modify the effective reduced speed school zone times to reflect the changes proposed for the McKinney ISD schedules.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• McKinney ISD has adjusted the school schedules for every school to allow more time for buses to travel between schools.
• New McKinney ISD school times:
• Elementary School: 8:10a.m. to 3:20p.m.
• Middle School: 8:50a.m. to 4:00p.m.
• High School: 7:20a.m. to 2:40p.m.
• The effective times for the reduced speed school zones will be changed to reflect the new school schedules.
• Faubion Middle School will continue with summer school through June 20, 2025 and the signage will be modified afterwards.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• Funding for the signage necessary to reflect the new school times is in the Engineering operating budget.
