RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:                     

                     Consider/Discuss potential changes to the Electioneering Ordinance, Chapter 38, Article IV of the Code of Ordinances.

 

ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     This work session presentation is to review and discuss potential changes to the Electioneering Ordinance, specifically related to handheld signs and the overall number of permitted signs per polling location.

 

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     The City of McKinney’s Electioneering Ordinance can be found in Chapter 38, Article IV of the Code of Ordinances, and it governs the time, place and manner of electioneering at polling locations.

 

                     After each election cycle, the Code Compliance Team evaluates the performance of current regulations and evaluates feedback regarding potential amendments.
