RECOMMENDED COMMISSION ACTION:
* Receive and file presentation.

ITEM SUMMARY:
* Preparatory meeting/training for revisions to the current and upcoming Consolidated Grants process.
* Staff will discuss calendar changes in preparation for an extended fall season application process for unexpended funds from FY 2026-2027.
* Staff will discuss changes to the upcoming timeline for the grants process extending from February 2027 to June 2027 for FY 2027-2028.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* The Consolidated Grants Process includes grant awards for both the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Community Support Grant (CSG)
* Each year the Community Grants Advisory Commission (CGAC) reviews grant applications, conducts public hearings, and provides funding recommendations to City Council.
* The 2026-2027 program year Consolidated Grants process was completed in June 2026. Discussion will include a potential additional round of fall applications.
* The 2027-2028 program year process will be conducted between April 2027 - May 2027 for programming applicable for CDBG, CSG, HOME partnerships program funds, and the transit homelessness grant.
* Staff will discuss the calendar and potential changes to the process as it moves from an annual process to twice a year.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
* Funding recommendations of the CGAC are contingent upon budget availability and the approval of the City Council.
