ITEM SUMMARY:
• Millennial Maven Creative Foundation is requesting $15,000.00 for the advertising, marketing and promotion of the 2026 Rooted in Rhythm event to be held at District 121.
• Originally, this event was scheduled for October 3, 2026.
• Request represents 46% of total promotional budget.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• Established in 2025, The Millennial Maven Creative Foundation (MMCF) is a 501(c)3 which aims to create community impact through immersive workshops and unique events.
• Their mission is to empower women and youth to cultivate careers in the creative space by providing them with culturally competent strategies and hands-on experience while teaching sound business practices.
• Their purpose is to provide exposure to various careers in the creative space to women and youth and provide effective strategies for job success.
• MMCF has served over 500 adults and kids with more programming slated for the rest of the year. The goal is to help connect women and youth to creative fellowships and jobs to increase representation in the workforce.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• MCDC’s allocation for Promotional and Community Event grants for FY 26 is $250,000, with $125,470 remaining and available for Cycle II applicants.
• MCDC awarded Millennial Maven a Promotional and Community Event grant in FY 25 in amount of $4,000 for the 2025 Rooted in Rhythm.
