ITEM SUMMARY:  
•                     The City desires to renew its contingent fee contract with the law firm of Abernathy, Roeder, Boyd & Hullett, P.C., for the collection of delinquent property taxes.
 
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:  
•                     Abernathy, Roeder, Boyd & Hullett, P.C. have represented the City in the collection of delinquent taxes for over four (4) years.
•                     Under the contingent fee contract, Abernathy, Roeder, Boyd & Hullett, P.C. will be paid the amount of the percentage-based collection fee recovered from the debtors, with no expense to the City or its taxpayers.
 
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:  
•                     The City will have no financial obligation under the contingency fee agreement.
•                     The Texas Government Code requires special findings and notice for cities entering into contingent fee arrangements with attorneys suing on their behalf.
