BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The City of McKinney Neighborhood Heros Program is a community-based public safety initiative designed to improve survival outcomes from sudden cardiac arrest by increasing rapid citizen response and expanding access to Automated External Defibrillators (AED) throughout the community.

This initiative directly supports City Council Strategic Goal 6.7, which seeks to develop a citywide AED deployment strategy with the long-term goal of making an AED accessible within four minutes anywhere in McKinney.

Baylor Scott & White Health has committed a donation of $450,000 to support the purchase, deployment, and implementation of AEDs for the Neighborhood Heroes Program. This funding will enhance public access to life-saving equipment and strengthen community emergency preparedness.
