RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* City Council approval of an ordinance calling for the Special Bond Election on May 4, 2024 to include:
o Five (5) Propositions
o Designation of Election Day Vote Centers (Exhibit A)
o Polling Places for Early Voting (Exhibit B)
* A Spanish language translation of the approved ordinance will be posted and published according to the prescribed Notice of Election schedule.

ITEM SUMMARY:
* The May 2024 Bond Committee recommends that the McKinney City Council place a bond package of $243.5 million on the May 4, 2024 ballot. The following items represent the proposed propositions and amounts identified for consideration:
o $106 million for public improvements of Parks and Recreational facilities
o $36 million for public improvements of a new Municipal Courts facility
o $30 million for public improvements of the Public Works South Campus facility
o $70 million for public improvements of the Police and Fire Department facilities
o $243.5 million for public street improvements including sidewalk, alley, and other traffic flow improvements

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* During the August 11, 2023 Budget Work Shop, Council requested that staff bring a presentation to a future Work Session regarding current bonded projects and future unfunded capital improvement program projects.
* On September 5, 2023, staff updated the Council on unfunded projects, a committee timeline, and a proposed subcommittee structure.
