RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of Resolution for an Airport Participation Agreement with Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT)
ITEM SUMMARY:
• A resolution is required by TxDOT Aviation to document the City’s administrative and financial support and acceptance of an Airport Layout Plan Update.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The Federal Aviation Administration grant assurances and TxDOT Division of Aviation require that Collin County Regional Airport maintain an up-to-date Airport Layout Plan (ALP) on file with them.
• Council approved an Airport Master Plan Update that included an ALP Update in November 2004 that has been used to justify all construction projects.
• Since then, all major aspects of that ALP have been completed or are under construction.
• Working closely with the City’s “M” corporations and alliance, the proposed ALP Update will take a fresh look at airport development using updated forecasts and business aviation activity.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:
• All future grant offerings depend on an up-to-date ALP.
• Project duration should not exceed six months.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• TxDOT will pay for 90% of the ALP update.
