RECOMMENDED COMMISSION ACTION:
* Receive and file presentation.

ITEM SUMMARY:
* This is the first preparation meeting/training for the 2026-2027 Consolidated Grants process.
* Staff will provide CGAC Commissioners training on the ZoomGrants portal, feedback protocols, and discuss the timeline for the grants process extending from February to June 2026.
* Commissioners will deliberate in June and provide funding recommendations to City Council. The City Council will not approve the city budget until September. The program year begins October 1, 2026.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* The Consolidated Grants Process includes grant awards for both the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Community Support Grant (CSG)
* Each year the Community Grants Advisory Commission (CGAC) reviews grant applications, conducts public hearings, and provides funding recommendations to City Council.
* The 2026-2027 program year will start with public information meetings held on February 27 and March 3, 2026 for interested applicants. Public hearings will be conducted between April - May 2026 for programs applying for CDBG, CSG, HOME partnerships program funds, and the new transit grant.
* Recent updates to the CSG program include the addition of Warming/Cooling Stations, Capacity Building, Community Economic Development, and other categories.
* It is estimated that approximately 40-50 organizations will apply for funding.
* Staff will update members on the planning calendar and potential changes to the process.
