RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION: Approve ordinance

ITEM SUMMARY:

This ordinance amends the fiscal year 2025-2026 annual budget by appropriating $100,000 from the Golf Course Fund balance for replacement of irrigation controls and necessary maintenance at Oak Hollow Golf Course.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The existing irrigation control panel is approximately 25 years old and has exceeded its service life, rendering it unable to support current irrigation needs. The proposed upgrade replaces the existing control panel with a modern, automated system that adjusts pump speed as needed to maintain steady water pressure. This allows the pumps to run only as fast as necessary, rather than at full speed all the time. The new system also includes built-in safety features and allows the service provider to monitor and troubleshoot the system remotely.

As a result, the upgrade will improve pressure control for the irrigation system, reduce energy costs, decrease unnecessary run time, and extend the life of the pumps and motors.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:

This ordinance amends the fiscal year 2025-2026 annual budget by appropriating $100,000 from the Golf Course Fund balance for replacement of irrigation controls and maintenance at Oak Hollow Golf Course.
