RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
Approval of the Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
The recommended contractor, G2 General Contractors, has submitted a proposal to provide construction renovation services for the Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) Facility Project in the amount of $1,138,499.55.
This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a Construction Contract with G2 General Contractors to provide construction renovation services related to the ARFF Facility Project (FI2635) for an amount not to exceed $1,238,499.55, which includes an owner’s contingency of $100,000.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The purpose of the ARFF Facility Project is to provide facilities at McKinney National Airport that support the immediate response of Fire Department personnel and equipment during airport operations.
The temporary facility is needed to support compliance with FAA airport rescue and firefighting response-time requirements associated with operations at the new airport terminal.
The facility will house Fire Department staff and airport fire response equipment while airport operations are occurring. Staff support areas will include sleeping quarters, restrooms, a kitchen, and office space, along with areas for the storage and readiness of airport fire response equipment.
