ITEM SUMMARY:
• To comply with Bipartisan Infrastructure Law changes to 49 USC Sec. 5329(d) a transit agency serving a small urbanized area (an urbanized area with a population of fewer than 200,000) must review and update its agency safety plan in cooperation with frontline employee representatives. Agencies must also update the agency safety plan to include strategies to minimize exposure to infectious diseases. Staff met with frontline representatives to discuss updates to risk analysis and hazard mitigation training, and outlined infectious disease exposure mitigation strategies in January 2023. Staff will meet annually with frontline representatives, with the next ASP meeting scheduled for September 2024.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The City of McKinney Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan was developed in conjunction with TXDOT in 2020.
