ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     McKinney Community Development Corporation will consider extending Project RI24-10 awarded to Hester Eats, LLC in an amount up to $50,000 on September 26, 2024 to install a fire suppression system and site improvements at Hamm’s Meat Market.

                     The grant termed out on September 26, 2025. Due to unavoidable project delays, the grant recipient is requesting an extension to December 1, 2025.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     Hamm’s Meat Market is a family-owned and locally-sourced butcher shop, market, and lunch destination.

                     Hamm’s has been a staple in food service in McKinney since 1954.

                     Known for their spiral hams, the market has expanded their offerings to include a lunch menu and small dining room.

                     Future plans include patio seating and full scale lunch operations.

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY: 

                     Original grant award was for up to $50,000, and no funds have been drawn at this time.

                     The request is eligible for MCDC consideration under Section 501.103 of the Texas Local Government Code.
