RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:                     

                     Approval of Resolution to accept and implement the grant, if awarded.

 

ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     The UASI program focus is to support state and local efforts to prevent terrorism and other catastrophic events and to prepare the nation for the threats and hazards that pose the greatest risk to our security.

                     This grant project, if awarded, will fund the purchase of Kevlar helmets, first aid trauma kits, tourniquets, and Stop the Bleed training kits for McKinney’s city marshals. These items will be used for preparing, training, and if needed, responding to an active attack incident.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     The UASI program grant award has been sought annually by the City of McKinney to help prepare for, respond to, and recover from natural, man-made, and technological threats and hazards.

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY: 

                     The total grant amount requested is $7,740. There is no required match.
