RECOMMENDED PARK BOARD ACTION:
• Approval of the Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This agenda item will authorize a professional services contract with Huitt Zollars to provide design and construction administration services for improvements to Tom Allen Jr Park in a contract amount of $278,090.00 and not to exceed $306,000.00
• The 20-year-old park features an aging playground and an elevated pavilion that has structural issues. Planned improvements will include a new playground and pavilion, along with updates to all walkways and ramps to ensure compliance with accessibility standards.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• Huitt Zollars Inc. was selected from a list of pre-qualified landscape architectural firms. (25-27RFQ)
• Tom Allen Jr. Park is located at 3301 Bahnman Dr. and was originally constructed in 2006.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• This project (PK2443) is a FY25-26 Capital Improvements Program funded by Parkland Dedication funds.
• Upon approval of this item, $199,000.00 will remain in PK2443.
BOARD OR COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
• The Parks, Recreation & Open Space Advisory Board unanimously recommended approval of this item at the May 14th meeting.
