ITEM SUMMARY:
• McKinney Community Development Corporation will conduct a public hearing on a retail development infrastructure grant application submitted by Waterboy RE for Harvest at the Masonic.
• Project elements include installation of a complete fire alarm system.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• Harvest initially opened in 2014 to serve great food while making a long-term impact on the community by supporting local farmers, ranchers and artisans. The restaurant sources most of its food from a 150-mile radius.
• Harvest has renovated, relocated and opened for business at the former Masonic Temple in McKinney’s Downtown Historic District.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• Funds allocated for MCDC Retail Development Infrastructure Grants total $300,000. Maximum award for any single grant is $50,000.
• In FY 2023, Waterboy RE was awarded a Retail Development Infrastructure Grant for $50,000 for fire suppression equipment and fur downs at Harvest at the Masonic.
• The request is eligible for MCDC consideration under Section 501.103 of the Texas Local Government Code.
