ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     The McKinney Repertory Theatre is requesting $6,790 for the advertising, marketing and promotion of the two unique shows in 2025.

                     Planned performances include National Pastime: A Musical (October) and A Christmas Carol (November and December).

                     MRT will have an abbreviated season due to the closing of MPAC for renovations.

                     Estimated total attendees for all performances is 4,250 with more than 50% coming from outside of McKinney.

                     Tickets are $24.50 for adults (exception: $14.50 for A Christmas Carol), $21 for seniors, and $19 for students/children.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     The mission and purpose of McKinney Repertory Theatre is to present live theater productions for the cultural, entertainment and inspiration of the community, while advancing the level of culture in the field of dramatic arts.

                     The organization partners with the Young Actors Guild to provide theatrical training for young stage performers.

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY: 

                     MCDC’s allocation for Promotional and Community Event grants for FY 25 is $250,000, $125,000 for Cycle II applicants.

                     MCDC awarded a Promotional and Community Event grant to McKinney Repertory Theater in an amount of $12,500 for their 2024-2025 Season performances.
