RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:      
·      Approval of the proposed Resolution.
 
ITEM SUMMARY:  
·      The purpose of these services is to research sister city facilities and provide a phased project to achieve the $29 million vision in today's dollars that includes outdoor aquatics, indoor aquatics, and a recreation center that is self supporting for maintenance and operations.
 
·      Brinkley Sargent Architects has proposed supplemental design fees totaling $8,700.
 
·      It is recommended that the City Council authorize the City Manager to execute a contract with Brinkley Sargent Architects, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $8,700 for supplemental design services associated with the Recreation Center and Aquatics Facility project.
 
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:  
·      The Recreation Center/ Aquatic Complex Design & Phase I Construction Project (PK7102) is a FY09-10 Capital Improvements Program funded by General Obligation Funds, MCDC funds, and parkland dedication funds.
 
BOARD OR COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
·      On September 9, 2010, the Parks, Recreation and Open Space Advisory Board recommended to City Council that Brinkley Sargent Architects be awarded a supplemental design contract for phase I on the Recreation Center and Aquatics Facility.
